TNG Modifications
The following list of modifications are based upon The Genealogy software package called The Next Generation of Genealogy Sitebuilding © 2001-2006, created by Darrin Lythgoe, Sandy, Utah. (TNG) For more information on this package, follow the link in the previous line of text.
These mods are based upon Version 5.1.4 and are provided here for download by fellow TNG users.
- A general guide to including a MediaWiki connection to your TNG site
- Version 3, currently being run at 4 sites is available for download. It is based upon installing the GenWiki tables into the TNG database (faster, cleaner) It also includes alternate strategies to link in the Place (Locations) see Strategy 1, and Strategy 2
- Add a google map link on the personlib.php to create a place link to the google map site
- A mod to add a CAPTCHA to the account registration form and/or the suggest form
- Modified Access Log. A mod to provide additional information in the access log, segregate search engine accesses to a robot.log, and add a link on the Admin Page to view the robot log.
- Change those page titles. A mod to make each personpage title reflect the individual on the page. Birth Date, Death Date, and Places. If living access is not allowed, the appropriate limits are placed on the display of Living information.
- Add the GENDEX Search, a nicely formated addition at the bottom of the standard search page.
